Hello, my name is Kristel and I’m an organizing addict.
Yup, you read that right. I’ve had a passion for organizing and writing ever since I can remember– so I thought, why not combine the two? Don’t ask why I’m obsessed with organizing, because I’m not quite sure either. All I know is that I love doing it.
That’s why I made a blog. I wanted to have a creative outlet to express myself through writing, and I wanted to share what tips work for me when I’m organizing. Organizing isn’t everyone’s thing. But it’s important in just about every aspect of life. And what works for me just might work for you.
Maybe, like my mother, you’re wondering about the title of this blog. Why I would choose something a little odd like “The Organized Independent?” The organized part is kind of obvious. But why independent?
Let me get real and honest here. I’ve not always been the most independent person. I’ve not always been confident in myself or my abilities. But starting this blog? It was a huge step for me. I had to choose to step out of my comfort zone and say, you know what? I’m going to be my own person. I’m going to do my own thing, the thing that I love, and I’m going to share it with the world.
And now I want to help other people–especially girls–find that kind of confidence and independence for themselves. I want to see a whole generation full of people unafraid to be themselves, no matter who’s watching. And maybe my little corner of the world here can be the first step into seeing that dream become a reality.
That’s what the Organized Independent is all about. Not only expressing myself and my passion, but also helping others be able to express themselves and their passions. I’m not claiming to have all the answers or have my life all put together–definitely not! But I am wanting to spread my dream to more than just my little corner of the world, and this blog is where I’m starting.
So I hope you stay. I hope you read my posts and find them helpful and inspiring, and then come back for more. Join our family, and feel free to ask questions and leave comments.
Welcome to The Organized Independent.
